Part 1 : Creating Your Panorama
You need to create a 360 x 180 degree panorama for Phoenix Creator and this can be a bit more daunting than a regular panorama. There are plenty of online tutorials but here are some useful hints and tips I have learned along the way.
If possible use a 8mm lens as this will allow you to create your panorama in 6 shots and will reduce the chance of errors, it can be done with an 18mm lens but this will require exactly 62 shots which can increase your error margin considerably and file sizes dramatically! HOT TIP: Always use manual exposure so you dont get overexposure compensation as you are moving toward the sun and always shoot left to right so your stitching software will love you!
Use a panoramic head if possible, the best value for money is the Panosaurus. If you are strapped for cash, here is a tutorial of how to make one for about $10. The beauty of the Panosaurus is it has the degree markings allowing for perfectly aligned shots.
If you dont want to shoot your own panorama but still want to have a play with creator you can download these cubefaces samples (be sure to watch the importing into phoenix tutorial on this page).
You will need stitching software to assemble your panorama and there are several available including the freeware Hugin and the pros choice PTgui
